COVID-19 Relief - Protecting Tourism Workers in Sri Lanka
Problem: The current COVID-19 pandemic has led to a sharp decline in tourism in Sri Lanka. With no personal savings and governmental assistance, tourism workers (and their families) will fall below the poverty line if their jobs are lost.
Initiative: In collaboration with our local partner, we launched a global fundraising initiative to provide urgent need to these families.
Impact: Thanks to +75 sponsors from +15 countries, we have already raised 18’700 Swiss Francs, which is enough to keep 28 families above the poverty line for 6 months with meaningful work in their community.
There are more families that we can help. We are still accepting donations that go directly to the ones that need it most.
